ABOUT ROLE:The IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day Operational Activities involved in the upkeep and maintenance of the systems and networks supporting the mobile wallet solution and stakeholders. The incumbent is one of a technical leader. This position is a demanding one and will suit only high-energy, focused, organized, result-oriented, highly driven individuals.  The successful candidate must have a relentless drive and desire to succeed in this post. This position reports to the General Manager.

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • At least five (5) years of management experience in information technology, computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate and mentor while ensuring that knowledge can be shared with colleagues and direct reports as required.
  • Experience evaluating business requirements and recommending appropriate technology solutions to address business needs.
  • Experience managing and operating IT infrastructure, with a proven ability to successfully implement, manage, and improve an organization’s technology infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in successful customer relationship management.
  • Experience in operating and managing applications in the domain of information technology, telecom, or financial services.
  • Strong commitment to continuous education through workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Proven track record of leading and commanding technical solution implementations.
  • Competent in operations of computer systems, security, network, system administration, virtualization, databases, IT infrastructure, and operational best practices in a technology environment.
  • Familiar with networks and networking, telecommunications, mobile wallet ecosystems, and payment message instructions.
  • Familiar with the operations and administration of the AWS suite of services.
  • Must be able to work creatively, matching technology and budget requirements giving value for money in the organization.
  • Must demonstrate technical competence in the fields of mobile payment systems, IT architecture, infrastructure, cloud solution deployment and operations, engineering, software architecture design, DevOps, etc.
  • Knowledge of the operation, management, and administration of the AWS Suite of services.
  • Knowledgeable in database operation and administration.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices concerning security, operations, and administration of a mobile wallet solution.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to implement required solution configuration changes as needed to ensure the overall success of the DigiWallet solution.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (primarily Microsoft Excel, Visio, Teams, Outlook, etc.).

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Team Lead Support

Support Digi & Telepin teams during the installation, integration, testing, and launch of new features and services of the DigiWallet solution:

  1. Become familiar and knowledgeable of Digi-related networks and systems that encompass the DigiWallet Solution.
  2. Lead the configurational adjustments and optimizations concerning Digi-related networks and systems that encompass the DigiWallet Solution.
  3. Become familiar and knowledgeable of the DigiWallet Architecture, Technical Design, Configurational capabilities, and technical functions including Telepin’s Mobile Wallet Solution, connected banking infrastructure, and related networks and systems.
  4. Become familiar with and knowledgeable of legal and regulatory requirements in the operation of mobile wallet solutions in Belize.
  5. Become familiar and up to date with the best technical security and operational practices for Mobile Payment Solutions.
  6. Support DigiWallet & Telepin teams in the project planning, installation, integration, testing, launch, and post-launch support of future features and phases of the DigiWallet solution.
  7. Report to General Manager on project progress as it relates to the execution of the implementation of new features or services including targets achieved and not achieved, opportunities and challenges, and supporting recommendations.

Process Improvements/ Implementation

  1. In collaboration with Digi & Telepin teams, establish and implement operating processes and procedures, including key performance indicators, to ensure a stable and secure, 24/7 always-on solution accessible to customers and other stakeholders.
  1. Implement the required configuration or adjustments to offer new promotions and personalized services through the DigiWallet solution.
  2. Support the execution of key stages in the life cycle of risk management including assessment, analysis, and mitigation, ensuring an always improving solution.
  3. Document, manage and report detailed information on the DigiWallet solutions’, related networks, and configurations ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  4. Become familiar and knowledgeable of legal and regulatory requirements in the operation of mobile wallet solutions in Belize and ensure the DigiWallet Solution is always compliant with the applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Manage IT budgets, and forecasts, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Relationship Management

  1. Develop and maintain customer relationships with associated legal and regulatory bodies to ensure the mobile wallet solution is operating within applicable laws and regulations.
  1. Enforce and implement IT Operating Processes & Procedures across functional areas and key stakeholders.
  2. Support the Sales Team in investigating and addressing queries and complaints; escalate where necessary for the resolution.
  3. Support the DWL Management team in ensuring the IT structure aligns with and supports the business in achieving overall goals and objectives, including supporting potential merchant or vendor discussions and providing technical guidance and recommendations.
  4. Always maintain constant and accurate communication with key stakeholders.

Monitoring and Reporting

  1. Educate and enforce KPIs across all DigiWallet solution components, including the engagement of applicable stakeholders as required.
  1. Track and analyze reports/dashboards on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to ensure that KPIs are within the prescribed limits.
  2. Where KPI targets are not being achieved, identify problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations to close gaps.
  3. Overall ensure that KPI targets are being met to ensure a competitive, profitable, and sustainable DWL subsidiary.
  4. Support the finance, compliance, and sales team of DigiWallet Limited to ensure the successful achievement of their KPIs.
  5. Ensure that the General Manager is always up to date on the following:
    1. Competitive environment as it relates to changes in other solutions on the market.
    2. Changes as it relates to legal and regulatory requirements in operating a mobile wallet solution.
    3. Overall status of KPIs achieved/not achieved and recommendations where applicable.
    4. Items that require escalation to another Manager, Telepin, or Digi Support team.
    5. Any potential technical feature or function that could be utilized to boost or improve the sales and performance of DigiWallet Limited.
